Maybe I just miss Reddit is Fun, not Reddit, but I still have RiF installed (I just can't delete it) and it still "works". I can't sign in or participate, but fuck I miss browsing everything. I've definitely replaced it with Kbin, but opening the RiF app just gives me sadness. Fuck spez.
Thank you for all your feedback on my @SamXavia account in my previous post about why you prefer Kbin, it really opened up my mind on why Kbin might be the better option....
Yes you heard that right, we are planning for the first /kbin release. Currently most server admins are running directly from the develop branch since /kbin is still in very (early) active development....
This is not an attempt to convert Lemmy users, nor is it a slight on Lemmy. I'm sure there are plenty of reasons why Lemmy works better for some, and I love the fact that we not only have multiple choices, but multiple choices that allow us to interact with each other regardless! It's amazing. Lemmy is great, no shade....
On desktop Hover Zoom is life changing way to browse memes and gifs. One thing I struggled with when I moved to Lemmy was Hover Zoom support. While it worked with imgur links, these are few and far between. I had given up hope when I finally discovered Imagus works perfectly.
It's important not to force this. Not all cats like to get pet either. Especially with cats you need to respect their choice and space if they require that.
But eventually they hopefully will go on your lap.
Maybe we should implement a new feature to add a filter to filter-out only threads from magazines your subscribed to. Or only see threads from users you follow. Or both.
Sorry to hear your struggles with the sign-out issue. Yesterday there was a cookie clean-up. But I think it happens way more than just once in a while.
How does federation of bots work? I was testing whether my bot will reply on Kbin and while I see it on the Lemmy side (lemmings.world/post/71345), the reply is not visible on Kbin side (kbin.social/…/I-created-a-ChatGPT-bot-for-Lemmy)....
Ok. My suspicion is that bot account only post locally within that instance and doesn't federate the message. Maybe to avoid spamming the fediverse? Maybe ask the Lemmy devs.
ow wait..! I know.. It's because Lemmy uses type 'Service' for the bot accounts. We will try to treat both user and service types the same in the near future.

Is it just me or does the Lemmy community actively ignoring the existence of kbin? I see a lot of posts explicitly mentioning Lemmy users but only posts from kbinners mention both platforms.
I wrote the first line of code for /kbin on January 14, 2021. Around this time, I started working remotely and decided that the time I used to spend commuting to the office would be devoted to /kbin. Hi everyone, I’m back with another kbin icon pack. This time it’s flags for 18 EU countries (the non-fancy ones) + an EU flag. So 38 icons in total. All icons come in two styles: semi-transparent/glassy and opaque metallic. I also made a simple instance logo generator....
@noughtnaut Pop quiz question back. How many flags are inside the flag of Norway, (excl. the flag of Norway itself). Bonus points: name the countries! Tip: This question may or may not contain misleading clues.
Well. we need to start from somewhere, on kbin.social there is: @gardening@kbin.social and @diy@kbin.social. Both should become more active. Just follow and post something I would say :)
