Lawful good. Sarcastic commentary free of charge. "Small angry dog" drawing belongs to brilliant Irma Kniivila

Huh. It just occurred to me that not everyone reads all the time. Like, there’s a bunch of people without books they’re reading right now. That concept is so bizarre to me. I’ve always got several books going. Ebooks, audiobooks and physical copies of books. If you don’t read anymore, when and why did you stop? No judgement. I’m genuinely curious. @bookstodon

@pseudonymsupreme @bookstodon I stopped reading actively for years when my kids were younger and only just started back up in the last year or two. I was honestly just too tired and fried to commit to anything that seemed more active than TV in the evenings, but I listened to a lot of podcasts. Now I’m reading a book or so a week.

when do you abandon a book?
I'm not very good at it, but I might be about to do it again.

@Helen50 @bookstodon I used to never quit. I do a lot of audio books now while commuting and quit those if I don’t like the narrator or the book doesn’t grab my interest. I still rarely quit physical books or ebooks, but audio books just have to work right away for me.

@fictionable @bookstodon This year, I’ve loved The Little Wartime Library by Kate Thompson, The Scholomance series by Naomi Novik, and Everything I Never Told You by Celeste Ng.

You know the drill, @bookstodon Whatcha reading this weekend? ❤📚👀

I finished WE ARE THE CRISIS, the excellent second installment of Cadwell Turnbull's Convergence Saga. NO GODS, NO MONSTERS was the first book.

I'm currently reading Ed Park's bizarro SAME BED DIFFERENT DREAMS.

Next up: THE FUTURE, by Naomi Alderman, author of THE POWER.

@kimlockhartga @bookstodon just finished “The Enigma of Room 622” by Joel Decker last night. Definitely good, well written and interesting. Never read a murder mystery before where you have to guess at who is killed until 2/3 of the way through. A little too meta at the very end. Just starting “The Man in the Queue” by Josephine Tey today.
