Quiz: which member of the Thursday Murder Club are you?: 47% - You are mainly Joyce! "You are the heart of the group. You’re the glue that keeps everyone together, and your disarming friendliness can help open doors that would otherwise be firmly locked." https://penguin.co.uk/articles/2023/11/quiz-which-member-thursday-murder-club-richard-osman @bookstodon

In case anyone is wondering if there is any engagement on here— this is the list of every book recommended after I asked if you’d share one book you enjoyed this year. You can scroll underneath the original post to see these, but I think seeing them all together shows the true awesomeness of the people on here.

Thanks for being pretty darn great ❤️

As if children's books aren't already losing visibility due to censorship now this...

This year Goodreads has removed all children's books categories from their Goodreads Choice Awards, meaning no more or categories. Worse, Graphic Novel & Poetry, have also been eliminated.

Here you can vote to ask them to bring those categories back:

I finished WE ARE THE CRISIS, the excellent second installment of Cadwell Turnbull's Convergence Saga. NO GODS, NO MONSTERS was the first book.

I'm currently reading Ed Park's bizarro SAME BED DIFFERENT DREAMS.

Next up: THE FUTURE, by Naomi Alderman, author of THE POWER.

Finished Legends and Lattes this morning. The last 20-30 pages really picked up the pace and boosted the book's overall rating from 3.5 to 4. A very fun and relaxing read, without too much depth or plot. But that can be allright too!

Maybe I'll pick up the new book by the same author too. Anyone started with that already?

These come to my mind:

Remnant Population, Elizabeth Moon

Deacon King Kong, James McBride

We Spread, Iain Reid

Old God's Time, Sebastian Barry

Someone in the other place got me onto sharing 1 randomly selected kindle book a day from my enormous collection. Here are my first three.

The Conductors by Nicole Glover is superb. Magical, mystery, historical & a romance all rolled into a fantastic package.

The Twisted Tree by Rachel Burge is a nordix YA horror & it's fantastic.

A Spirited Tail by Leighann Dobbs is book 2 in the cozy Mystic Notch series & features cats who talk to each other & an oblivious ghost-seeing MC.
