He seems to be doing really well (checkup next week) Before the whole deal with having to pull the teeth, we had already switched him to wet food because he was so skinny. I’m beginning to think that’s just his body type because he has gained over two pounds and still looks just as skinny. I feed him about a can and a half a day. Lol

Scooter had the last of his teeth (besides the canines) pulled today. Poor little guy has stomatitis which means he’s allergic to his own tooth enamel. The vet said it was the worst case he’s ever seen but the gums around the teeth that were pulled last time are looking much better, so hopefully this will be the end of his...

Hahaha. With these two it’s like a 50/50 chance it’ll end that way or just be a back and forth cleaning session. With the other cat I’d say 75% odds on a boxing session.

Oh he always does. He gets wet food because he’s got bad teeth (something called stomatitis) where he’s allergic to his own tooth enamel. We are half way through having his teeth removed. Vet couldn’t do them all in one session because some are still very well seated and he’d have to be under sedation too long. It sucks big time but he’s a really good boy and has been a trooper through all the vet visits. Here is a pic from when I was ignoring him a few minutes before.

The vet said it’s unusual to see it so young, and then also said he had never seen a case so bad, even in adults. His gums looked like hamburger meat and it broke my heart. He had given no indication that it was painful to eat the dry food. We’ve had to get steroid shots every month since we started and the vet said THAT can lead to diabetes, so we need to get the teeth out and hope that’s the last of it. Surgery is on the 7th, so hopefully that’ll be the end of it. I hope your girl fares much better!

Oh absolutely. How could anyone resist that belly?

He is the most chill cat I’ve ever known. He doesn’t mind anything. I can pick him up and he’s just a limp noodle. Knock something over and the other two are off the couch and up the stairs before you can blink, but he’ll barely lift his head to investigate. And no he’s not deaf, he can hear treats in the kitchen from the farthest room upstairs.
