I think fediverse is a good mid point. It’s partly decentralized and moderated by volunteers.

For instance, in decentralized networks, who is going to bring high-quality and moderated content on a public page? If there is going to be moderators, who are they and how they’re going to be selected? If everything going to be free, then whats stopping people from sharing illegal or CSAM?

I’ve read Nostr docs and I saw that users must comply with relays rules to live on that server. If its like this, then there is no difference between Nostr relays and Mastodon servers; there will be authority anyways. Except Mastodon is properly moderated.

Its not exactly decentralized. Yes its splitted across several servers, but these servers still centralizes the users/data. In order for us to truly say decentralized, each user must keep their own data and no other authority should be able to interfere with this user’s data.

I said “fiasco” because they did not share the backend server repo for a while and did not make any statement about it. Maybe a little overreaction than it should be. But for an app that promises privacy, it’s kinda annoying.

Does defed.xyz checking other softwares like Akkoma? For my instance, defed.xyz shows only dubvee.org is defederated, which is correct.

But in the other hand, federation-checker shows only matrix.rocks defederated, which is a Akkoma instance. I’m not sure is it correct since IDK where is Akkoma’s defederated list but both sites showing different sites.

YSK: You can bypass hCaptcha and Cloudflare Captcha legally with Privacy Pass extension

There’s been an add-on called Privacy Pass for a few years now. This plugin gives you 30 passes for CF and 5 passes for hCaptcha when you solve one. For example, once you solve 1 captcha for Cloudflare, you will not see 30 captchas again! It will automatically pass....

It should be hCaptcha. I hate it more than Cloudflare or Google. We’re literally doing Tesla autopilot AI training for free on it :)

Yeah i don’t care about the legality part too. But its working stable for years. Cloudflare is already tracking whole web anyways 🤔 Any alternative is appreciated.

There is also mlmym (mlmym.org) for Lemmy. It has old.reddit style for Lemmy. I deployed one for my instance on old.lemy.lol.
