I'm surprised that so many people don't know this.
Stole this image from someone who stole this image, and I'm stealing the question, too:
WHAT FILM MADE YOU GO 'WTF DID I JUST WATCH'?
Off the top of my head:
Mother! definitely. Also Society, The Outwaters, Final Prayer (aka The Borderlands), Dead Alive (aka Brain Dead), Skinamarink, The Human Centipede, Infinity Pool, Antichrist, Hausu, Secretary. And I love them all.
What about you?
📽️ What's a horror movie that you feel is so: striking, unique, disturbing, profound, &/or beautiful that it transcends to the level of ART?
(Not for just a scene, or moments, or even a performance, but for the ENTIRE film.)
Four that immediately occurred to me:
The Wolf House
There Will Be Blood
I can think of more but I'm curious what YOU all think...
I have to go eat & do stuff but I'll be back on later to see what you all said!
My #DiabolikDVD order came in today!
So happy- I got all of these at GREAT prices during their Clearance sale and I had none of them on Blu-ray. It's going to be whole new experiences watching them! 😍

Bonus 🎃 Jack O' Lantern 🎃 Meme dump
Text: My friend's mom tried to glue vampire teeth on a pumpkin. Picture of a jack o' lantern with vampire teeth glued flat around it"s mouth, with glue smeared and dripping all over its circular mouth, making it a very... Um... Suggestive picture.
[When you're in public having an anxiety attack and you're trying to look and act as normal as possible but really you be looking like this. Picture of a flattened, smooshed jack o' lantern with a wide smile. It looks deflated, but it's trying.
Text: Instead of carving the jack o' lantern myself this year, I poked a bunch of small holes in a pumpkin and stuffed the holes with peanut butter. I then let the squirrels go at it for a few days. The result is something truly disturbing. Picture of a pumpkin with a terrifying, disturbing teeth-gnawed face- the results of his experiment.
Well, we watched it. It was... a movie.
I'm not sure how you take well-written, previously existing material for a compelling prequel, cast a bunch of really talented people, and still wind up with a milquetoast, totally forgettable movie- but somebody did, so I guess... Good job. It wasn't even BAD- just utterly unremarkable.
Also, the lack of Maine accents (in general, but for JUDD CRANDALL, of all people) was irritating.
