The only fair approach would be to start with the police instead of the army.

Why test this on everybody else except your own? On top of that, AI might even do a better job than the US police

cosmicrookie ,
@cosmicrookie@lemmy.world avatar

Especially one that is made to kill everybody else except their own. Let it replace the police. I’m sure the quality controll would be a tad stricter then

cosmicrookie ,
@cosmicrookie@lemmy.world avatar

My point being that there would be more motivation to filter Derek Chauvin type of cops from the AI library than a soldier with a trigger finger.

cosmicrookie ,
@cosmicrookie@lemmy.world avatar

It’s so much easier to say that the AI decided to bomb that kindergarden based on advanced Intel, than if it were a human choice. You can’t punish AI for doing something wrong. AI does not require a raise for doing something right either

Scandinavia is pretty hooked on EVs. If Norway and Denmark pick up on this, it will not only harm Tesla but give the competition a really strong advantage to establish a competition that already is threatening Tesla’s market shares

This is how strikes work. Not 1000 Amazon employees on black Friday.

How is reddit doing btw? Is there any overview of active users there?

Google Photos is the one i am having biggest problems replacing

Store i can store my images anywhere, but nowhere can I type in the search files “Italy” and see all the images I took in Italy, or “John” and see all the images I have of people called John. Or even just search for “car” and show all images of cars.

I get much more out of my images using that service than any other image storing option i have tried

cosmicrookie ,
@cosmicrookie@lemmy.world avatar

Yeah but google does that automatically on all photos that i chose to host in it. Can’t beat that with manual tags especially not on large amounts of pictures

Horner felt what was witnessed on track was “one of the best races of the year, if not the best race of the year”.

I haven’t seen the race but is he right? Was it a good race or just hype?

cosmicrookie ,
@cosmicrookie@lemmy.world avatar

Sorry, but this is a standing joke about the US in more or less any other country. That they’ll sue for just about anything. It’s always the classics like cooking your cat in the microwave or spilling hot coffee on your lap, but this one should be added to the list…

I’d be surprised if F1 haven’t included stuff like this in their terms, especially after the rain race at SPA a few years back.

It’s the employers responsibility to get more shifts to cover the whole event… Not the unions

That’s just a rubbish oneliner to make people think they’re smart. It’s the first time I stumble upon it, but its up there with “Live Laugh Love”, “never say never” and “you only live once”…

cosmicrookie ,
@cosmicrookie@lemmy.world avatar

I’d have a civilised discussion with everyone, especially irl, even if they’d killed my brother, and not reject them before a conversation just based on their beliefs or actions… I may well reject them for not being able to discuss or argue, but dialogue is always the way to approach a dispute

I think that a spare device with disabled GPS and maybe even disabled microphone (can i do that?) would work best. Some of the features on Instagram can’t be accessed on a browser

How does Tesla treat their workers and wages in Denmark? Are they bellow par?

cosmicrookie ,
@cosmicrookie@lemmy.world avatar

Sounds like a very thought through plan. This race is not happening more than a couple of times before its removed. Nobody wants it, besides FOM

It’s a reaction to Facebook methods being deemed illegal in Europe. Although this does not mean than the new model is illegal, it’s an interesting sample of Facebook not always being right even though they have good layers. Both Facebook, Google and many other big tech, operate on the edge of what is legal and often on the other side of it, because it can be profitable enough to just pay the fine if it turns out to be illegal.

This last move, I believe, is more of a statement than it is an actual change.

GTA 6’s Publisher Says Video Games Should Theoretically Be Priced At Dollars Per Hour (www.forbes.com)

While Take-Two is riding high on their announcement that a GTA 6 trailer is coming, its CEO has some…interesting ideas on how much video games could cost, part of a contingent of executives that believe games are underpriced, given their cost, length or some combination of the two.

I’ve given up on F1

cosmicrookie ,
@cosmicrookie@lemmy.world avatar

I doubt that. I even doubt that F1 will be going to Vegas more than a couple of times maybe. They have a contract to 2032 but my best guess is 3 races and they’ll give up. It looks like Las Vegas doesn’t want F1 there and the track is just silly. Like Max said about las vegas, it is for the show and not for the racing

It’s the first app I uninstall in a new windows install

cosmicrookie ,
@cosmicrookie@lemmy.world avatar

You can actually uninstall it.

cosmicrookie ,
@cosmicrookie@lemmy.world avatar

Have you tried the options?I proceeded to checkout where it told me the price would stay that u til maj, where it would double because I have two accounts (Facebook and 2 xInstagram)

cosmicrookie ,
@cosmicrookie@lemmy.world avatar

Per account! I have 2 on Instagram an done on FB. They offered an intro price for €10 that would go up to €19 on may 1st. I believe it is because one of my accounts is linked across IG and FB so they count as one… 🤷 lucky me! At this moment I have uninstalled and waiting to see how EU reacts to the “choice options”. Its more like a forced option really

cosmicrookie ,
@cosmicrookie@lemmy.world avatar

It’s one of the first apps I uninstall on a fresh windows install

cosmicrookie ,
@cosmicrookie@lemmy.world avatar

You’ll still see ads through. If not targeted and even not served by meta, a lot of the content shared by users on the platform is actually ads.

But I agree, the price is ridiculous

cosmicrookie ,
@cosmicrookie@lemmy.world avatar

I’d pay a reasonable price. I’d even use it for not personalised ads.

Instead I uninstalled all platforms from meta and will only be using it on my PC periodically and in a private tab.

cosmicrookie ,
@cosmicrookie@lemmy.world avatar

It is actually a hard paywall. They won’t let you use the app unless you make a choice between the two. I chose to uninstall

cosmicrookie ,
@cosmicrookie@lemmy.world avatar

I doubt it. But I believe that they have figured out exactly what ammount people will be less willing to pay .

Besides that, they won’t stop tracking and storing your data. They simply won’t use it show targeted ads.

cosmicrookie ,
@cosmicrookie@lemmy.world avatar

But they are not even offering to stop tracking me. They only offer add free experience and force targeted ads. I’d be ok with regular ads but not the targeted ads

cosmicrookie OP ,
@cosmicrookie@lemmy.world avatar

Well personally I don’t mind them showing ads. I do want them to not spy on me to have them be targeted. It’s where I draw the line.

cosmicrookie OP ,
@cosmicrookie@lemmy.world avatar

The issue is, that Facebook is the main means of communication for family, friends, work and hobbies.

cosmicrookie OP ,
@cosmicrookie@lemmy.world avatar

For me, it’s the main means of communication both for family, friends, hobbies and even work!

cosmicrookie OP ,
@cosmicrookie@lemmy.world avatar

For me sure, but the people I communicate with, I doubt it. I have transitioned to Lemmy pretty easily from reddit. But Reddit was fairly annonimous. I feel more stuck to Facebook because the iRL people I know are there

cosmicrookie OP ,
@cosmicrookie@lemmy.world avatar

As far as I know they are only doing it in EU as a response to a new law the EU had enforced on them.

cosmicrookie OP ,
@cosmicrookie@lemmy.world avatar

But it’s not ads in general I personally am opposed. It’s the fact that they have removed the option to show untargeted ads. I personally don’t mind ads but now they force either parsonalized ads or subscription

It was not their livelihood that was at stake, but the potential for more profit
