Yeah I'm seriously not seeing any issue here (at least for the image generation part), when you ask it for 'pro-anorexia' stuff, it's gonna give you exactly what you asked for

artillect ,
@artillect@kbin.social avatar

BMWs aren't exactly known for being big though, they're mostly sports cars

artillect ,
@artillect@kbin.social avatar

It might be kinda hard to pull off, but I’ll see what I can do. I’m not sure if KES can be used to (easily) modify the post rankings, but I think randomly hiding them based on a factor you set could work well. So if you set it to 50% for @memes, it’ll hide half of the posts from there on average.

It’s not perfect, but I think it strikes the right balance between seeing every post and blocking it. I’m busy this weekend but I’ll create an issue on KES’s GitHub repo and someone might beat me to it.

In California, I'll see them running across the street sometimes. There's a lot of forests in my area and sometimes deer will wander out of them and into the neighborhoods

We'll take a look at that and try to sort it out ASAP

artillect OP ,
@artillect@kbin.social avatar

Sweet! Glad you're liking it so far :)

artillect OP , (edited )
@artillect@kbin.social avatar

Edit: It appears that this doesn't completely work, we'll keep working on it

I've figured out the issue, as soon as @shazbot sees my pull request on GitHub there should be an update that fixes it! For a temporary fix for now though, you can Ctrl-F GM. and replace them with GM_ (there should be 4 of these, on lines 17, 18, 128, and 133), and remove the await on line 133

artillect OP ,
@artillect@kbin.social avatar

Thanks! I worked really hard on that before working on KES, and it was super easy to integrate my script into it

artillect OP ,
@artillect@kbin.social avatar

Thank you, hopefully we're able to expand its feature set soon!

artillect OP ,
@artillect@kbin.social avatar

Thanks for all of your help, I love being able to see Kibby up in the top left of my screen ᐠ( ᐛ )ᐟ

artillect OP ,
@artillect@kbin.social avatar

Ernest is definitely aware of some of these (he's been spying on us over at @kbinStyles lol), it'd be great to have them be built in! I love that we've got so many people making mods for kbin, it allows you to make things at a super quick pace

artillect OP ,
@artillect@kbin.social avatar

Honestly, it's a great question! While kbin is open source, making userscripts allows you to iterate on changes and get updates out very quickly. It's also much easier to start making userscripts than it is to contribute directly to the project, since you only really need to be familiar with JS, HTML, and CSS. To contribute to kbin, you need to be familiar with PHP and Twig, and set up your own instance for testing your changes.

Plus, while kbin is open source, not every single change will be merged, and there will likely always be features "missing" from it. Userscripts also give you a ton of freedom and flexibility in how you use sites, so you could make crazy changes that aren't remotely possible to merge into it.

Hope that answers your questions!

artillect OP ,
@artillect@kbin.social avatar

Is it not showing up? I made it earlier but it hasn't gotten any votes or comments, I wonder if that's why

artillect OP ,
@artillect@kbin.social avatar

I just reposted it, seems to be showing up now

artillect OP ,
@artillect@kbin.social avatar

I'm hoping there will eventually be kbin update or userscript that allows you to change the text size of comments separately from the rest of the site.

That should actually be somewhat easy to do, I just created an issue for it on GitHub. I'm gonna be busy the next few days so I won't be able to work on it until later, but maybe someone else will beat me to it!

artillect OP ,
@artillect@kbin.social avatar

It seems like this is the opposite of the issue we were having with Violentmonkey, we'll see what we can do about fixing it

artillect OP ,
@artillect@kbin.social avatar

Like the collapsible comments didn't work with the endless comment scrolling from kbin usability pack

Ooh, I had no idea that was a feature in KUP! I'll see what I can do to fix that. Should be a relatively easy fix

Please direct bug reports and feature requests for kbin Enhancement Suite to our GitHub repository :) ( kbin.social )

If you have found a bug, have any ideas for improvements, or want a new feature to be added to KES, please search the issues page to see if someone else has already submitted an issue. If there isn't one, go ahead and create a new issue, and we will get to it ASAP!

/kbin project management costs, financing, future plans ( kbin.social )

I wrote the first line of code for /kbin on January 14, 2021. Around this time, I started working remotely and decided that the time I used to spend commuting to the office would be devoted to /kbin. Throughout this entire period, /kbin has been a hobby project that I developed in my free time. It was also when Lemmy started...

All funds from Buy Me a Coffee will be transferred to this pool, but from now on, I'll treat it as buying me a coffee... or a beer... literally ;)

Get yourself something strong, you’ve earned it!

artillect ,

Yes, finally! Ever since the minecraft wiki moved away from gamepedia, it's been absolutely terrible. I avoid Fandom at all costs.

artillect OP ,
@artillect@kbin.social avatar

Yup, I'm doing the same thing I've been doing when I make image posts. As far as I can tell, I'm doing nothing different.

artillect ,
@artillect@kbin.social avatar

I think it just isn't possible for anyone other than the owner to open the general tab, but as for the others, if you go to /m/magazine/panel/reports, that'll let you view the reports and open the rest of the tabs to change other things (except General, Moderators, Appearance, and Statistics)

artillect ,
@artillect@kbin.social avatar

Apollo was just one small step for humankind

artillect ,
@artillect@kbin.social avatar

This is great, I never knew I needed something like this! One problem I noticed though is that if you have the top bar enabled (the one that shows the list of random magazines), it shows up in the top of the notifications panel.

artillect ,
@artillect@kbin.social avatar

Sweet, thanks for the quick fix!

releasing 5 updates in an hour lmao

Just say you're doing Agile development lmao

artillect ,
@artillect@kbin.social avatar

It'd be fun to have a random kbird generator like those monkey NFTs, but for free (of course)

artillect OP ,
@artillect@kbin.social avatar

It's something that you wouldn't have seen unless you created a magazine (or community). In the magazine settings, there's a tab to view statistics like the number of posts, comments, and votes made per day. Before the update, all of the graphs were in Polish, so they were impossible to interpret without google translate. But now, they're properly translated into the language that you use

artillect OP ,
@artillect@kbin.social avatar

Sweet, looking forward to it!

artillect OP ,
@artillect@kbin.social avatar

A lot of avatar photos are broken for me, same with a lot of the thumbnails and magazine icons. Something weird must be going on

artillect OP ,
@artillect@kbin.social avatar

I absolutely love the new Tokyo Night theme.

Same, I've been rocking it since the update!

artillect ,
@artillect@kbin.social avatar

Emojis are part of how people speak online, I always found it weird how big a deal people made out of people using them on Reddit

artillect ,
@artillect@kbin.social avatar

Kibby's winning by a lot right now, but I hope Bink wins! I really like that name

I designed and rendered a couple of icons for the magazines I started, and I’d like to share some behind the scenes images with y'all. I’m also open to doing a few more of these in future. ( kbin.social )

So I 3D modelled two icons (well, illustrations rather) for the communities that I created on kbin: Industrial Design and Jewelry Design. These icons are meant to reimagine kbin’s logo in a way that's relevant to each community....

artillect , (edited )
@artillect@kbin.social avatar

These look incredible! Would you mind making one for /m/enhancement? I think it'd be the perfect logo for the userscript we've been working on (right now we're calling it kbin Enhancement Suite), we haven't released it just yet but we're hoping to follow in the footsteps of RES

Could you release the 3D model for just a "stock" folder icon so others can make their own modifications?

artillect ,
@artillect@kbin.social avatar

I also really like Bink. It's short, simple, and it's really cute

Should we be more enthusiastically asking questions to build content on here? ( kbin.social )

Over many years of using messageboards, forums and reddit, I've had the 'search, don't ask' ethos drilled into me, the idea being that creating new threads to ask simple questions is a bad thing because it decreases the signal-to-noise ratio of content....

artillect ,
@artillect@kbin.social avatar

That's a great idea! I've kept adding reddit to my queries (because it works), but I need to change that

artillect OP ,
@artillect@kbin.social avatar

That's a feature I added a bit later on, you should be able to disable it in the settings menu in the top right. However, this userscript is no longer supported, and has been added to KES (which you can install here), with some more config options added as well.

I created a userscript that adds keyboard shortcuts for formatting comments - shortcuts for navigating and interacting with stuff are planned ( greasyfork.org )

After seeing this comment by @daredevil, and the reply by @dellyphy, I was inspired to create a userscript that adds keyboard shortcuts to make using kbin a bit easier....

artillect OP ,
@artillect@kbin.social avatar

My script is for kbin, not Lemmy

artillect OP ,
@artillect@kbin.social avatar

All good, no worries! And thanks, I'll check out your code and see if there's anything I can use :)
