I just double checked it and it’s set to never expire.

I believe they reached out to us a few months ago, but discussions stalled because of contractual issues (NDAs and the like). We’ll see.

What are some FOSS programs that you think are a far better user experience than their counterparts? (sh.itjust.works)

I used Plex for my home media for almost a year, then it stopped playing nice for reasons I gave up on diagnosing. While looking at alternatives, I found Jellyfin which is much smaller and more responsive, IMO, and the UI is much nicer as well....

Thanks for the praise! We’re not on Lemmy too much, but someone in the Core Team caught site of this and shared it with me. If you’re wondering who I am: github

This is pretty cool. Do you mind if I use this myself?

Problem with jellyfin android client

So, I host some songs on my jellyfin server, When I reproduce them on my android phone with the screen on the music is fine, no problem at all, but when the screen turns off or when I press the button to turn it off, the music sounds all corrupted, when I power the screen back on the music sounds fine, any solutions?

A fix is to disable the Power Management (or whatever it may be called) for the Android app in your phone’s settings. Depending on the manufacturer, this will have a a different name, and it is often quite aggressive. That said, there are some tailor-made music apps for Android, which are also a good choice.

It has the starting pieces of bigger changes to the playback engine.
