It was me... I chose the article which best described those facts, unfortunately there was very little attention given to the event by the international press, so only few sources were available. I preferred to delete my post because the accusation of being "Erdoğan's propaganda" would have led the article to be ignored. I posted a more neutral press agency note in another more "tolerant" community to avoid similar effects again.

    I've seen this post recently, the Android section contains the list you may be looking for.

    In my regional dialect we call those worms something that would translate to "furry cats", which I have always found quite weird... in my language their name refer to their walking in long lines one after the other like it was a ceremonial procession.

    My top choices:

    • Jerboa and Eternity are native Android apps (the first uses modern technologies like Kotlin and Jetpack Compose, the second one has a lot of Java code and the UI is made with XML layouts for activities/fragments);
    • Voyager is portable web app built with React in Typescript, with mobile flavours made using Ionic capacitor;
    • Thunder is a cross-platform app built with Flutter in Dart (like Liftoff and Lemmur were in their days);
    • there are other FOSS apps like Combustibile (native/Java+XML) or Muffed (Flutter)...

    That's an interesting point... Jerboa should handle Lemmy handles correctly in the form !element@host.

    Also hyperlinks in the form of https://host/u/name (or https://host/c/name) are intercepted and opened in app.

    I'm not its maintainer but I read its source code and IIRC those cases are handled...

    Closed source, though.

    Ursula von der Leyen is seeking a second term as head of the EU's powerful Commission (apnews.com)

    Poland's new government deprograms its once far-right public media (www.npr.org)

    WARSAW, Poland — It's 7:30 in the evening in Warsaw, and public news broadcaster TVP Info is about to broadcast live to millions of viewers across Poland. Producers in a crowded control room scurry in and out, sometimes stopping to peer through a narrow window into a studio where the host reads from a teleprompter....

    Why are the Guardian and the Observer becoming aware of this fact that happened a month ago?

    DieguiTux8623 ,
    @DieguiTux8623@feddit.it avatar

    Yes but no... the proclaim was made on the national television, which has created diplomatic issues (as well as domestic issues because the government can not allow this message on a public channel, since Italy is official on Israel's side).

    After having received a reprimand from Israel's ambassador and made some politician very angry (there will be a dedicated question time in parliament), the CEO of the public TV broadcasted a message in which he told all of Italy is against terrorism and supports Israel fully and unconditionally. Which is not true, he can speak for himself, his channel, the government if he dares but definitely NOT the entire population of the country.

    And the career of Ghali, the rapper who said those 3 words "stop the gen......" is seriously at risk now.

    I fear that we will look at the situation of the recent past years with a lot of nostalgia and think "we were happy but we didn't know it"...

    Apple was just forced to crack open its App Store — but the changes are already being called 'hot garbage' (ca.finance.yahoo.com)

    Apple was just forced to crack open its App Store — but the changes are already being called 'hot garbage'::Changes to how apps are distributed on iPhones should be welcomed by developers, but many are unhappy with some describing them as "hot garbage."

    Their malicious compliance and resentful behavior is bad advertisement in any case, both for app developers and for users. Yes, most people don't care but I hope some will realize who they are dealing with.

    Why did they vote him in the first place? And it these protesters are the ones who didn't actually vote him, why don't they accept the will of the majority? The government isn't committing crimes against humanity like mass deportations or other last century's madnesses, so it's just how democracy works.

    This is the price the EU has to pay for having wanted to expand to the East without verifying that the annexed countries were meeting requirements or were mature enough democracies. And the price to pay is immobilism today (in a situation that would rather require action) and doom tomorrow.

    But, since we are on Lemmy where the average user goes like "Europeans are ex-colonialist capitalist exploiters and need to be eaten alive", in the end I think the situation is going towards the better for humanity.

    I didn't remember the correct English word, but the meaning was clear. Anyway my comment only applies to the country entering the EU, about which Fico was more lukewarm than about NATO membership.

    This happened during a historical commemorative event (for an episode happened in the 70s where some people who belonged to a far right group were killed and the perpetrators were never processed) which happens every year and nobody ever cared about it. Suddenly I'm 2024 everyone is pointing fingers.

    Italy is what it is, everyone here who feels superior and judge should look at their own country: all Europe (East and West, South and North) is leaning towards the far right except Spain, so don't feel so superior. Even not agreeing with any f#scist regime, being told that we are a "sh#t country" or other things written in the comments here is not pleasant at all.

    DieguiTux8623 ,
    @DieguiTux8623@feddit.it avatar

    Agree... but some innovation is needed in the opposition because the current left wing parties in Italy have betrayed their electoral basis quite a few times in the past and people (workers, middle class, the majority of the population in practice, except high bourgeoisie and the ultra-rich) don't feel represented any more.

    Pro-Russian disinformation in Bulgaria achieves its goals, experts say (www.euractiv.com)

    The latest Eurobarometer survey showed that Bulgarians are significantly less likely to admit that they have been targeted by fake news than the EU average (Bulgaria – 51%, EU27 – 68%). At the same time, only 44% of Bulgarians doubt information from social media, compared to the average for the EU (60%)....

    With the ridiculous salaries they will be offered and the poor shift organization they will find, even foreign doctors will last very little. Unless they are forced to sign long term "slavery style" contracts with penalties if they resign earlier.

    Italy is turning to private healthcare, there's no way back. And the US demonstrate to the world that this is a winning model... right? right? oh sh*t...

    Never say never... adding a JVM flavour to convert it to a desktop app is technically possible and, even if some native parts would need to be reimplemented (gallery selection of images, etc) it would be a fun exercise to do so.

    Jerboa is awesome and has got better and better over time. And it being open source is a great value given to the whole Lemmy community. Whenever I have doubts, I look at Jerboa's code as a sacred book for guidance, meditation and inspiration 😂 once you get accustomed to some of their idiosyncrasies it has all the answers!

    In my country, 2030 is foreseen as the year the public retirement plan administration system will collapse due to this.

    Dismantling public healthcare is a solution our government is already going for to the detriment of everyone (unfortunately) but public retirement plans cannot be changed retroactively to any extent, they are reducing the highest pensions and blocking the rest of them (inflation will de facto lower even the blocked ones) while at the same time increasing the retirement age progressively but still it isn't enough.

    We're doomed, no matter how much blood and tears.

    This will not lead to anything good neither for LGBTQ organizations (which simply don't care of the Pope's pronouncements as they never did before) nor for Christianity which is already splitting around this issue. You can't change your mind like that if you are the head of a great institution: obviously your former followers will be confused, especially after you insisted that you held the only unchangeable truth for centuries. Personally I belong to the group of people who don't care much about what the Pope says and do not consider him a moral reference, but I'm seeing the reaction this is having in Italy where politics, economy and religion are tightly coupled.

    Unfortunately, in Italy different choices were made. Not by Italians but by who won the WW2. Educating about the dangers of some ways of thinking or even condemning some people as criminals would have empowered too much the PCI (Italian communist party) and made the country lean too much towards the Eastern block, so a "general amnesty" was made and most things were forgotten. Here is the result. Good luck.

    Most apps support multi-account but I think what the OP is asking for is the ability to switch account just for replying on a post/comment and for that reply only or when composing a post in a community, while continuing to use the main account afterwards.

    I come from a super-right wing family too (but from Europe) and they really are in love Elon because it's like "a dog being out of control" in the billionaire group, the one who is brave enough to go against the rules, defying the "cancel culture" and the unidirectional thinking imposed by political correctness.

    DieguiTux8623 ,
    @DieguiTux8623@feddit.it avatar

    Obviously I don't approve of any of it, let it be clear... Lemmy for me is a sort of "therapy group" where I find relief from that toxic environment.

    DieguiTux8623 ,
    @DieguiTux8623@feddit.it avatar

    In general I would argue that he has a good reputation, due to good marketing mostly. A great lot of people see him as some sort of "illuminated visionary" who fosters innovation for the Good™ and will save humanity with SpaceX, Tesla, etc. [I don't agree personally to any of it but that's another story].

    As a software developer, I'd recommend them to switch to semver, having three digits to separate major, minor and patch numbers. This makes it easier for customers to identify if the new version has just minor fixes (an ingredient removed), breaking changes (eg the menu changes) or major changes (all the waiters were replaced) compared to the previous one.

    Unfortunately it is Android-only (for now, at least), I’m sorry. It is developed with multiplatform technologies (KMP and Compose multiplatform) but I’ve focused on Android and the iOS counterpart definitely needs more work. It is open source though, so if anyone wants to help and experiment it’s more than welcome.
