They invaded the entire world for spices yet decided they like none of them

Robots will have values and ethics completely different from humans, so there is no way to know how they will view us if they were sentient. It’s entirely possible that they will see being forced to speak to humans in our language to be just as patronizing to them as we think it’s to us.

Designers of talking kiosks essentially assume you can’t read.

Whatever you call them, sugar-based popiscles have nothing on pieces of frozen fruit. You can even get bags of them at grocery stores and plenty of convenience stores!

On one hand I’m interested in seeing how well it works and what they do with it, on the other hand…

My Opinion: NewPipe, Piped, Invidious, etc's days are numbered.

With Reddit shutting down its API setting a precedent in the corporate tech world (and Reddit was a major outlier in that a ton of their users are technical minded and support third party clients, YouTube does not have that kind of userbase and will not get backlash for it), Twitter doing whatever the fuck they're doing, and...

I’ve never pegged Google as particularly giving a shit about legacy support though. They kill things out of the blue without warning or explanation.

Wonder if that will finally change with web integrity.

That’s what happens when you make a basic GUI in a freaking game engine.

Yeah I know you want to demo your game engine, but I don’t need you to demo thermal throttling on my processor.

As far as I know yes.

They most likely intended it as a way to showcase their game engine. Not sure how well that works considering everyone hates the Epic launcher, but you do you I guess.

Please no. I don’t want Lemmy to lose its “have never sent someone to the hospital” streak.

For anyone who lives in cities with half responsible urban planning, let me tell you: It’s worse than you can imagine. It’s genuinely unwalkable (I’ve tried, don’t have a car) especially in the summer when you have zero protection from the sun. Also, this is technically the “downtown” with all the commercial/industrial areas. It’s hard enough to walk through here, the distance between your 1M+ house deep in the suburbs to here is ten times greater, maybe it’ll have sidewalks, or a bike path if you’re really lucky.

Give me a godamn concrete jungle, we’ll discuss aesthetics and blocking out light and the view out the window and all that later, at the very least you can physically access places you need to go.

Replace socialism with capitalism and this meme becomes accurate.

The US has a higher per capita rate of both food insecurity and extreme poverty than China, Cuba, Vietnam, and the former USSR.

Meanwhile…
