Yes. The same sentence you quoted has this at the end of it:

"it handed over the personal details of one user last year."

There is a huge difference in Italian pizza and whatever passes for pizza in some other countries. Anyone who doubts this needs to try an Italian / Sicilian pizza, it's amazing.

The bread is much tastier, the ingredients pop in flavour and there is very little greasyness on the plate after eating it.

And that is something to inspire to? Look at the world right now, with billions of people having almost no money at all.

This is the only show in this thread that I agree was epic. The others were just meh to me.

It cannot beat Breaking Bad or Better Call Saul... Nothing can. :)

But I will give it a go...

I would love to have the ability to see what other realities exists. One where Hitler didn't rise to power, or where Trump wasn't born, or where Musk failed all his projects and became a better person because of it.

I get much more worried over "American tourists". I don't know what it is, but they are often so rude and unhappy.

When I was in Italy last year, one American guy was asking directions and he just left once he got then, without even saying thank you. :) It's like he was offended that he would end up in a situation where he needed to ask someone directions, and it was our fault somehow.

Yeah I'm in Sweden too. Its a lot worse than it used to be. My dad's generation had the best country possible, with great social support, salaries, pensions etc.

Sweden is probably still good compared to other countries but I bet Norway is the best.

Yes and when you look at history, religions like Christianity have killed so many people it's hard to count even.

I never worked anywhere where they had this set up. I would push to branches and make pull requests, but always work in the production environment.

I was mainly working as a data engineer though so that's probably why. It's hard to have test environments since you can't replicate all the enormous amounts of data between environments without huge costs.

I think the reasons was ridiculous. The fact that people didn't like the word master anymore. But I'm used to it now, so fine, let's use main. It makes sensitive people feel better.

I love the pic of all engines the most. :)

Would probably use all fuel in 10 minutes, and be way too heavy to even take off.

This probably works better than syncthing for mirroring shell history.

If you like movies with lots of emotional ups and downs, Beau is Afraid is the best movie I have seen this year. It will surprise you every 10 minutes. Really good movie.

From those movies, pig was quite good. And of course all the older ones since he was in his prime back then.

My favorite movie with him is Con Air.

Ah ok, then you are in for a treat. Hopefully you can find good quality versions too, remastered ones.

Most of the world doesn't even have guns for their citizens. But I have switched my opinion a little bit on this topic. I used to think nobody should be allowed to have a weapon at home. But after seeing the constant failure of police departments to protect people, and the increased crime levels, I now think it's actually not a bad idea to own a gun. Nobody else is going to protect your family.

Rethinking Moderation: A Call for Trust Level Systems in the Fediverse

Being a bank is amazing. And they also get bailed out when things go bad, so no reason not to gamble for higher profits.

Yes but not at this kind of modern graphics level.

I'm assuming that is the reason but not sure.... Maybe it's just picking the easy route also.

I think it's a huge plus that it's not run by big tech corporations. How many such things do we have today?

@1984@lemmy.today avatar

Yeah but think about the property prices... Rich people losing money. What a tragedy.

Tried to read the site but it's paywalled, because of course we must pay to read content on the web.

I wish these sites would all die.

If I was living in China, I would switch to Linux right away. Learn the ways of networking so I could try and protect myself.

It's a very cool wallpaper and most importantly, has none of the Microsoft shit feeling to it.

Looking at the world, seems likely that Satan is running it, not God.

When they say "Lord", which lord are they referring to in reality.... Without knowing.

This is the scary part - it will kill you even when unplugged!

If you die while learning, is it really learning... :)

Why are people so antsy to see others in person?

I WFH, every year one of the goals that the rest of the team decides is that it's "so great" to see each other in person. The past few years haven't worked out but one did. I spent hours in a couple of airports, the huge expense for the company, I spent days away from my family, and for what? So you could look me in my same face...

1984 ,
@1984@lemmy.today avatar

So what's the benefit for me, letting the corporation employees and managers study my body language and micro facial expressions?

For me, it's just a huge hassle getting to work, getting up earlier and paying for transport and lunch just to be there, for seemingly no reason that benefits myself at all.

So much time and energy wasted while also harming the environment.

I don't plan to be at the same company more than a few years anyway.

1984 ,
@1984@lemmy.today avatar

I think I would also annoyed at the smells of different foods, but... I don't know. It's one of those things I would have to experience myself. :)

Great for you, but capitalism means companies need to make higher profits every year. Brother is still around though so they somehow make it work.
