Please share the information about the below as widely as you can - this is a course for the general public, which is super rare!

"Join Dr Manuel Muñoz in a one-day overview of Iberian late-medieval books at the London International Palaeography School. We will explore the evolution of book scripts between the 13th and the 15th centuries, and we will discover what makes late-medieval Iberian unique."

Can anyone recommend some things to read about how people (in any culture) used to find information among manuscript miscellanies when those miscellanies didn’t have tables of contents? Anything in English, French, , or Turkish would work. @histodons @medievodons @librarians

Dirk Obbink loses a default judgment, in Hobby Lobby's fraud suit against him.

Why has he not been prosecuted? His fall from grace is otherwise near complete. But the question of why??? still remains.

Lists like these really drive it home how many have been lost over time - nearly 1,500 manuscript were destroyed at the National Library of Warsaw alone in WW2.

Some very happy -century fishes swimming around. They appear in a famous early Italian version of Cassiodorus' Institutions, which is one of a number of showing a vivarium: a pool for raising living , here linking directly to the river. It represents Cassiodorus' own monastery, Vivarium - one of the first real medieval Western monasteries – at Squillace in Calabria.

If anyone is trying to access stuff at the British Library but can't due to the , National Library of Scotland is worth a try.
For example, it has some historical maps of the entire UK.
I've been looking at a large scale one for Suffolk, where my grandmother's family farmed up til the 1880s, and overlaying a modern satellite view.

@markhburton While awaiting the return of digitised manuscripts & context to the British Library website, I've been hoping to find alternative sources after all the international collaboration on IIIF etc? but meanwhile just discovered that some popular images are at https://imagesonline.bl.uk

@markhburton While awaiting the return of digitised manuscripts in full context to the main British Library website, I've just discovered some favourites in their Images Online section: see for example https://imagesonline.bl.uk/search/?searchQuery=Luttrell+Psalter
