"I have a hard time believing that YouTube would be unable to keep business afloat without the revenue generated by behavioral-tracking advertisements,” EFF’s Daly Barnett told @theregister. “It’s a lazy and deliberately malicious move on their part."

@eff @theregister can someone with coding skills, please help develop a peertube client for AndroidTV (esp. something similar to SmartTube)? Please.

We need federated alternatives to YouTube.

The Mastodon App has not been kept up to date on F-Droid.

But Tusky has.

For those of us looking to De-Google, that's something to keep in mind.

markkdark , to Technology in The fall of Firefox: Mozilla's once-popular web browser slides into irrelevance

Before the new year, I donated 25€ for Firefox, my long-time companion to Grapheneos and Linux. Although Google is introducing DRM, I don't think anything is so important in this life that I have to use Chrome or IE, I will adapt to the situation and instead of worrying about DRM (of course, for the public Internet, this seems like a total violation of users' rights, for safety 🤣🤣🤣, really?) I will try to be more social, but not in the sense of social networks, but hanging out with friends or listening to music or running or a good book... I definitely don't want this big corporation near me, which we are more and more they control... (google,ms,apple,amazon...) Firefox probably missed by not insisting on FirefoxOS (phones), but it has a great agenda - privacy and simplicity. I look forward to many years of using FF!!

Which FOSS degoogled Android rom would you recommend?

@askandroid

(you can recommend googled roms, just let me know it is)

markkdark , to Privacy in What phone do you use with what OS?

If you decide to be then you need to get a solution for Googlepay, it could be another provider, I have another payment provider on another profile (with play store), otherwise I could be without it. I don’t use Google auto as I already have navigation in my car or Magic Earth.

@BryceWrayTX

often blocks my ISP connection on websites that use it, so why would I trust ? This gets zero approval from me. If anything, this service just creates yet another pocket for cache alongside (that majority of websites were brainwashed to use already). If it's what to is, then I suggest avoiding extra hops and using instead.

Tried the @Vivaldi browser. A good example of when "the more the better" doesn't work. Sure it is an IMHO.

Still very interesting. Having your emails and calendars integrated into a browser is a good alternative when OS-built-in tools for this are crap.

Now back to @firefox.
