What happened to "civilized west'" support of law and order and enforcing the demands of Security Council and ?

7 days have passed, Israel not only ignored the ruling, it has escalated their war crimes in both and occupied West Bank.

They haven't allowed humanitarian aid, but murdered western volunteers feeding the starving palestinians.

hasn't pushed for ceasefire and release of the hostages, instead they have given billions of dollars worth of 2000 pound bombs and F-35 fighter jets to Israel.

hasn't stopped selling weapons to Israel despite them laying about it and ignoring the parliament ruling.

UK simply don't give a shit.
Neither does , , , , and other "civilized European" nations.

I'm not an historian of Canadian federal politics in the 1980s and 1990s, but I know several other historians who are. They're not hard to find. Do you f'in homework CBC. @histodons

First it was Boehringer. Now drugmaker AstraZeneca has followed suit by capping out-of-pocket costs for inhalers to $35/mo. That’s down from over $600. But this doesn’t happen by itself.

It took pressure by lawmakers like Sen. Bernie Sanders and from engaged consumer activists.

Canadians are being hosed horrifically over drug prices!

/ Saudi Arabia boosts funding to UNRWA by $40 million targeting Gaza relief

[…] The donation by the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSrelief), which is dedicated to Gaza, comes as UNRWA faces a severe funding crunch after the United States and Britain paused support following Israel's accusations that a dozen of its 13,000 staff in Gaza took part in the Oct. 7 Hamas attack on the country.

The government, despite a non-binding motion passed by the House of Commons, will cease future arms sales to "Israel," according to Foreign Affairs Minister Melanie Joly.

The initial motion called for the recognition of the State of Palestine but was changed to "establishment of the State of Palestine as part of a negotiated two-state solution negotiation."

In addition, the initial motion urged for an immediate ceasefire in Gaza but was then conditioned on disarming the Palestinian Resistance.

Third, the suspension of "all trade in military goods and technology with "Israel" and increase efforts to stop the illegal trade of arms, including to H-am-as" was rephrased to Canada's commitment to "cease the further authorization and transfer of arms exports to Israel to ensure compliance with Canada's arms export regime and increase efforts to stop the illegal trade of arms, including to H-am-as."

Minister Joly said that the change in rephrasing is substantive, not only symbolic, indicating that Canada will no longer export arms to "Israel".

🇨🇦 / Parliament to vote on motion backing Palestinian 🇵🇸 statehood

[…] Canadian legislators are due on Monday to vote on a non-binding motion backing Palestinian statehood that has drawn condemnation from and that could deepen splits inside the ruling Liberal Party.

[…] "Justin Trudeau could take bold steps for peace and justice, but he doesn't have the courage. That's why we brought a motion to force the Liberal government to finally help end this bloodshed," NDP leader Jagmeet Singh said in a statement, saying Palestinians and Israelis both deserve to live in peace.

[…] The motion calls on Canada to "officially recognize the State of Palestine" - a step that no member of the Group of Seven industrialised nations has taken - and suspend all trade in military goods and technology with Israel.

[…] The initial version called on Canada to "officially recognize the State of Palestine" - a step that no member of the Group of Seven industrialized nations has taken.

[…] After back room negotiations between the NDP and the Liberals, that wording was dropped in favor of language calling on the international community to work toward the establishment of a Palestinian state as part of a two-state solution.

[cont’d] / Trudeau government will stop sending arms to Israel, Foreign Affairs Minister Mélanie Joly says

[…] A key section of the motion that eventually passed 204-117 with the support of most Liberals, the NDP, the Bloc Québécois and the Greens, had originally called on Ottawa to "suspend all trade in military goods and technology with Israel and increase efforts to stop the illegal trade of arms, including to Hamas."
[…] That was swapped out for language that commits Canada to "cease the further authorization and transfer of arms exports to Israel to ensure compliance with Canada's arms export regime and increase efforts to stop the illegal trade of arms, including to Hamas."
[…] Speaking to the Star on Tuesday, the foreign affairs minister, who has the legal responsibility of approving or rejecting export permits for military goods and technology, said the change is significant and not merely symbolic.

/ Trudeau government has paused non-lethal military exports to Israel over human rights concerns: sources

[…] Canada stopped approving exports of non-lethal military goods and technology to Israel two months ago amid deepening concerns about possible human rights violations, the Star has learned.

[…] The Trudeau government is facing a lawsuit to force it to permanently ban or halt controlled exports of military items, lethal or non-lethal. And the Liberals face growing pressure to condemn Israel’s military actions in Gaza.
[…] When it comes to controlled exports, the Canadian government is legally obligated under the Export and Import Permits Act and under international treaties to assess whether there is a “substantial risk” that exported items “could be used to commit or facilitate” serious violations of international humanitarian or human rights law, or serious acts of violence against women and children. or
